Welcome

Hi All, and welcome to our June edition, which has got a distinctly summer feel to it! You never know, we might actually get one this year, the signs are quite promising so we live in hope.

Both Louise and I were shocked and appalled at the events last month in Woolwich, London, where an innocent member of our armed forces was savagely murdered. I think the shock was that this could happen in our country and not in one of the many countries where our armed forces are continuously putting themselves in danger on a daily basis. We have included a very insightful article on page 92 which gives an excellent overview of some of the duties carried out by our Armed Forces since the Second World War. Also, we urge everyone to support Armed Forces Day on the 29th June, which is being held in Coopers Field, Bute Park, Cardiff, with events starting at 10am.

Last month was our son`s fifth birthday, which was celebrated in style with a party for nearly 40 children, and was a great success, due in no small part to the children`s entertainer who did a magnificent job keeping that amount of children occupied for nearly 2 hours. We have already booked her again for his birthday next year!

As well as hoping summer has arrived, this edition has plenty for the men who might read the magazine, as its that time of year when Fathers get the recognition they deserve! We also have articles for the sporty types, those that are soon to be going on holiday, and those that enjoy sprucing up their home and garden.

Until next month, enjoy what hopefully will be the start of a glorious summer.
