BY JOEY LAMAR USATF transferred control of the greater New York City Association -- which includes
the five boroughs of New York City and six counties north and northwest of the city -- from the Metropolitan Athletics Congress,
Inc. to New York Track & Field, Inc.
Lauren Primerano serves as the association president. Primerano, a former athlete herself, competed in the 2004 Olympic Trials as a javelin thrower. Her passion for the New York association is clear.
“I wake up thinking about USATF New York and I go to bed thinking about it,” Primerano said. “I am determined to make USATF New York a viable, well-respected and sought-after organization. I want potential donors and sponsors to know we are working every day to provide as many opportunities for our athletes as possible.”
Donors and sponsors are noticing the first-class event staging from the youngest to the most experienced athletes in NYC and the surrounding counties. Strong marketing and enhanced communication efforts play a strong role in development. On the business side, they are building strong relationships with key organizations outside of the USATF family, while maintaining
