Disposables UK, a leading supplier of washroomdis- pensing products to the away from home market, scooped a major win at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games when its Bay West range was chosen for venues within the Olympic Park. In all, some 16,000 Bay

West dispensers were in- stalled within the Olympic Park, and throughout the

duration of the Games 7500 cases of product, including toilet tissue, soap and hand towels, were delivered. 220,000 toilet rolls were used in conjunction with Bay West dispensers and 10,000 car- tridges of soap were pro- vided. Products were installed by a dedicated fit- ting team over the period August 2011 to June 2012. Working in partnership, Disposables UK and one of

its UK based independent distributors, took part in a highly competitive tender process conducted by LOCOG (the London Organis- ing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games). As a result of the strong impressionmade, Bay West washroomdis- pensing products were se- lected for use in the Velodrome and Basketball stadium. The remit was then further extended to cover the supply of product to the main stadiums and press areas.

A key factor in LOCOG’s

selection of Disposables UK was its impeccable green credentials - it claims to be the first paper converter in the UK away- from-home market to be awarded EU recognised certification and to carry prestigious Ecolabel ac- creditation - combined with its cost savings over some other washroom alterna- tives, and reduction in wastage and high capacity.
