nearby Chidlom skytrain station, which is an enjoyable way to navigate the city. Unlike many of the other salubrious
residences in the city, Oriental Residence cannot boast a riverside setting, but it is certainly a pleasant area to base yourself, cocooned from some of the more vivacious adventures that lie beyond in this behemoth of a city. Te Khao San Road springs to mind as one such unforgettable experience. We whiled away three hours on this backpackers Mecca, in awe of this bustling hive of all
manner of activity, that is like nothing we ever encountered. Fortunately, as our visit coincided with a weekend, we were also able to visit the breathtaking Chatuchak Market, the largest weekend market in the world. It was fascinating to see busy shoppers snap up bargain wares in bulk. Such was the market’s sheer size, we were barely able to make an impression on its footprint before fatigue began to encrouch.
