Dr Karidis

Waterfront Magazine uncovers some of the hardest working treatments available to aid the ongoing quest to stay fresh faced and looking good, for longer

N

ever did we imagine that a recent trip to Liverpool would reveal some of the most exciting and hard working treatments that we

have seen in some time - all under one roof, at Karidis MediSpa on the second floor of Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar. After a recent meet with the man behind

Karidis MediSpa, Mr Alex Karidis himself, he kindly invited us back to indulge in the vast array of offerings, which bridge high-end luxurious treatments with groundbreaking, clinical procedures. From Beyonce’s favourite energising Hydra-facial to Victoria Beckham’s best kept secret Intraceuticals Oxygen Treatment, most treatments cater to achieving that so desired ‘red carpet ready’ result. All this considered, we felt we needed

something a little more than a just a regular facial. Mr Karidis explained why surgery was not the only solution. “My team is made up of talented doctors and nurses who I have trained,” he said, “Tey have used anti-aging injectables, like Botox or Juvaderm, in a medical setting for dealing with scar tissue for facial injuries sustained in road traffic incidents or after cancer has left hollows

in the contours of the face.” Once my then uneven hollow had been filled with Juvaderm, creating a smoother profile, a course of laser treatment was conducted by the lovely Caroline Farr. Caroline explained in full how the treatment

would work. She said: “Put simply the Harmony XLi Laser uses intense pulsed light technology, to cause a heat reaction. Te light is absorbed into the skin and it causes the blood in the tiny vessels to heat up and destroy the vessel itself. Te body’s own lymph system then eliminates the residue and clears the area. It is pain-free, just a little flick of light snapping onto the skin and you can see the area where the veins where will go instantly dark. Within days you can see the healing of the area, and no veins in sight.” A course is recommended at three or four

week intervals, to ensure that the vessels are cleared. After three sessions I am delighted with the results. If you want more from your spa treatments than you are currently getting, then simply book in for a consultation and discover the extensive range of treatments on offer at Karidis MediSpa, and pose those questions that you are too embarrassed to ask
