Tri-Merit Process Verifi ed Program (PVP) In this program, producers are
able to document specifi ed quality management processes in their beef production systems. Participation in the Tri-Merit
PVP allows users to certify that their animals are USDA process- verifi ed for age- and source-veri- fi cation. Membership in the BBU/Tri-Mer-
it verifi cation program includes a 1-time audit fee and $2.75 per ani- mal charge. With this, producers receive individual EID tags and a certifi cate for every calf enrolled. After confirming the number of calves being enrolled, BBU will send the appropriate number of EID tags. When those calves are sold, BBU will send the certifi cates to the buyer or packer.
