from the FouNdIng fAMily s Sonny Seewald Jimmy Belt To Larry Gray, TSCRA executive
director of law enforcement: I wanted to … recognize and
express my grateful appreciation for the efforts put forth by 2 of your spe- cial rangers, Sonny Seewald from Pleasanton and Jimmy Belt from Liberty, in a recent diffi culty I had in Chambers County. Sonny was very helpful to us in
another similar situation in Brazos County several years ago. I realize that it is part of their job, but it would be very easy to just pawn it off as a “civil matter” or “not our jurisdiction.” It’s been done before. I know TSCRA is not a collec-
tion agency. I hope you know that I wouldn’t bother you with any- thing unless all possible avenues have been exhausted and a crime is being committed if the situation is allowed to fester. That was the situation here. All it took was a phone call. Everything is fi ne now and we are working it out to our mutual satisfaction. This new generation of special
ranger is impressive. Your men are responsive, intelligent, tough and extremely professional. Hats off to you. Your leadership and example make the law enforcement division what it ought to be — one of the most important, if not THE most important function TSCRA has in the service of its members. We’re lucky to have you. From the bottom of my heart, especially Sonny and Jimmy, thank you. Leo Casas III, Beeville
