Contents Dear Reader, What a month it’s been!
Bett 2013 took place at the end of January and the key themes at the leading education technology event were collaboration, innovation and mobile learning/remote operation. Education Today was at the show and was amazed by the enthusiasm of the exhibitors, the variety of content on offer and the number of education providers that had turned up to look to the future of education. You can read the full review on p8.
Also looking ahead, were the attendees at the Westminster Education Forum Seminar, ‘School Buildings for the future’, that took place in mid-January. Architects, teachers and staff from the Education Funding Agency and various LEA’s gathered to discuss what the building landscape for future schools will look like. Education Today was there and one thing’s for sure, it’s probably not what you thought! Read more on p16. With the news that Michael Gove has done (another!) about turn and decided to shelve plans for the Ebacc, there’s more reason than ever to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the ever-changing education sector. This month, read about improving in- class learning on p10, e-safety considerations for schools on p22 and a great book review for budding (or current) head teachers on p24.
As always, you can keep in touch with us on Twitter via @EdTodayMag or visit our Facebook page.
Until next month, enjoy the issue! Catherine Dowling - Editor In this issue... 4-7 NEWS
