AED9101D Digital Transducer H
H4 PV Connector is TUV-certified to 1500 V
A
mphenol Industrial Operations (PV) H4 connector is now TUV-certified to 1500V and meets the requirements of IEC EN 50521, Certificate:
R-
72123201. This new rating approval, combined with the existing 1000 V by UL, establishes Amphenol's H4 series of PV connectors as the technology leader for PV systems worldwide. PV module manufacturers can now offer its global customers a single field- installable connector that meets the highest voltage rating of both UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) firms around the world can now use the H4 for cable assemblies and interconnections to meet the highest voltage standards available. Ideal for use in large scale utility and commercial PV installations, the H4 not only adheres to UL requirements in the US up to 1000 V, but meets IEC requirements for use up to 1500 V in markets where IEC is recognised including the European Union, parts of Asia, India and the Middle East.

BM has launched the latest version of its AED9101D digital transducer that incorporates updated transducer electronics to
provide rapid operational readiness for weighing technology applications. The AED9101D transducer processes interference-free signals from strain gauge full bridge transducers and makes them digitally available over long distances utilising various interfaces such as Profibus, DeviceNet or RS232/422/485. The new “D” version has been designed so that a stable thermal state is quickly reached after the transducer has been switched on. This means that scale is ready for accurate operation almost twice as fast as traditional models. The maximum number of load cells that can be connected to each amplifier is independent of the supply voltage for greater operational flexibility. Reiner Schrod, International Product Manager for HBM, comments, "An instrument that needs five or ten minutes to heat up is not available during that time. The new AED9101D helps users to power on and start weighing immediately." The AED9101D conforms with the international recommendations of the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) which state that check weighers, for example, have demands for a stable state of ‘zero’ with a very high display resolution.

Norbar Torque receives Japanese export boost
making a major impact in the Japanese market. The Banbury-based company took part in two UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) programmes which were designed to help British companies develop new business contacts, which has resulted in Norbar more than tripling its sales in Japan in 2012. Norbar Torque has a long-standing distribution presence in the Japanese market, but was anxious to maximise opportunities with a targeted contact programme.
N The programme has resulted in the sales boost
across a range of new and existing sectors, including aerospace, automotive, marine and wind power generation. “We have had a long-standing distribution arrangement in the Japanese market but with the help of UKTI have moved up a gear with significant sales increase,” says Owen Hillis of Norbar Torque. “The Japanese market is very strong in itself but also a vital bridgehead into the Asian markets due to its strength in key sectors like automotive and hi-tech engineering.” “In particular, the programmes have proved to be invaluable in strengthening our current distribution arrangements and we are confident that they will continue to reap benefits.”

urrelektronik's active brake rectifiers make connecting DC brakes easier. Now the contactor and rectifier modules are combined! So far, brake components were installed separately: in the control cabinet and on the terminal board of the motor. Now, with Murrelektronik’s active brake rectifiers, they are included in one compact component. The DC brakes are controlled directly from the control cabinet. And thanks to the integrated semiconductor switch, they never require maintenance. The active brake rectifiers receive a signal from the PLC via a 24 V DC control input. A semiconductor switch, which never wears out, controls the rectified output voltage of the brake. In the initial

state the DC brake is mechanically closed, and then is released when the magnetic coils are activated. Approved mains voltages from 230 to 480 V AC make Murrelektronik brake rectifiers suitable for various applications. They also have UL approval which ensures they can be used worldwide. The active brake rectifier can be installed easily thanks to the pluggable spring clamp terminals. Pluggable components for the control input and output voltage enable quick and safe installation.

New U10M & U10S Force Transducers
H
BM has produced improved versions of its U10M and U10S force transducers with IP68 high degree of protection making the transducers suitable for use in challenging ambient conditions. The cable is connected directly to the transducer to achieve the high IP68 degree of protection; this contrasts with other models that utilise a bayonet-type plug. The transducers are based on strain gauge technology and are suitable for measuring both static and dynamic forces. HBM’s range of U10 force transducers have a characteristic sturdy,

measuring body and feature individual bending moment alignment. The latest transducers are suitable for a range of applications such as in test benches set up in climatic chambers. The transducers are also ideally suited to other applications under tough ambient conditions or outdoors. All U10 transducers – from a nominal (rated) load of 12.5 kN – are now available with the IP68 design.
