Staatstheater Stuttgart, Germany’s largest theatre, has improved communications at its drama theatre with two Eclipse HX-Omega Digital Matrix Systems. The planning and installation was a joint venture between MCI, a Clear-Com Partner for Germany, and Zeiler, a systems integrator. The facility’s 50 Clear-Com FreeSpeak Beltpacks were integrated with the Eclipse HX-Omega system via an E-QUE-HX card to enable wired and wireless coverage across the venue.

LMC finds inspiration at PLASA Focus
LMC Audio Systems and Inspired Audio have announced an agreement “to develop the UK and Ireland loudspeaker market together”. The deal was formalised at the PLASA Focus show in Leeds last month
LED BY design director Chris Scott, who has a track record of over 20 years of original design success, Inspired Audio has developed a premium loudspeaker system family designed, manufactured and tested in Nottingham, UK. Paul Hinkly’s LMC Audio has a long history as a reseller of premium pro-audio consoles for the live, touring and installation markets. However, he challenges the notion of a conventional ‘distribution’ set-up with Scott’s business. “LMC and Inspired
have committed to each other UNITED KINGDOM
Inspired’s Chris Scott (left) and LMC’s Paul Hinkly at PLASA Focus
to enable a close working relationship that simply would not be possible through multiple dealer channels,” he told PSNEurope. “The title
‘distributor’ does not in itself give you automatic access to any customer rights. What is important is your behaviour and activity with customers, and this has nothing to do with titles like distributor, dealer or manufacturer direct. For LMC and Inspired Audio it’s ‘Are you any good for customers?’ that really counts. For some years, LMC has
built a significant market share in the sale of mixing consoles, claims Hinkly, though he has long held ambitions to achieve similar levels of penetration with loudspeakers
systems. “It stands to reason that LMC must improve its offering in order to achieve its objective,” he continues. “LMC has enjoyed award- winning success with leading loudspeaker brands in the UK, but we are not completely satisfied and nor are our customers so Inspired Audio provides an opportunity to deliver an engineering-led, ‘no-bullshit’ solution.” Hinkly confirms LMC has
no current plans to distribute additional lines. “Inspired Audio is a perfect fit with LMC,” he continues. “As a UK manufacturer, its UK strategy, values and culture are all closely aligned to UK markets and LMC’s strengths. “Inspired Audio products sound awesome and meet customer requirements for multipurpose, no-compromise speakers without carrying the eye-watering investment required of current dominant premium brands, where there is much cloak and daggers approach, and a lot of confusion about what makes a good loudspeaker investment.”n
