Taking place at the Royal Armouries, the fifth annual PLASA Focus: Leeds event will bring the latest technology for use in live events, theatre productions, corporate events, venue installations, nightclubs and leisure attractions to the north of England.
As well as new products fresh from their international launch at Prolight + Sound, the two-day event also includes a free Professional Development Programme. In the audio sphere, Steve Jones, from Application Support & Education at d&b audiotechnik, will explore how the size of a loudspeaker can affect its directivity, the direct to reverberant ratio and the level at the back of the room in ‘Why Size Matters’, and sound designer Gareth Fry will demonstrate some of the techniques he uses to mangle and process sound effects in ‘Creative Manipulation of Sounds’.
Around 130 exhibitors, including Nexo, Polar Audio, Electro-Voice and Roland, are confirmed at the sold out event; more than 2,000 visitors are expected, with pre-registrations up 30% on 2012. To arrange a meeting with thePSNEurope team at PLASA Focus: Leeds, email psneurope@intentmedia.co.uk.
