FOLLOWING THE launch of the Pro Sound Awards last month, PSNEurope and other participating titles within the Intent Media group have been thrilled by the complimentary and encouraging responses to the news from around the professional audio industry. The Pro Sound Awards will be held on 19 September at the world-famous Ministry of Sound nightclub in London, with some 16 different accolades handed out during the evening. There will also be a complimentary drinks reception and post-awards party. Sennheiser and DiGiCo have already signed up as headline sponsors. The awards event will
celebrate excellence in Live/Touring, Studio, Broadcast and Installation audio, and is jointly-backed by leading pro-audio business titles PSNEurope, Installation, Audio Pro International and Audio Media, and supported by MI Pro and Music Week. Candidates will be invited to
put forward their nominations for the Awards during a lobbying period, with the list of finalists being announced prior to the awards night. Now we can reveal more details of how the process works. The lobbying period will open on 10 April – that’s the first day of the Prolight + Sound show in
Achievement prizes which will be chosen by the Pro Sound Awards team).

Sixteen awards will be handed out on the evening of19 September
Frankfurt (see our preview on page 12). From this point, all companies, services and individuals with an interest in the pro-audio industry are invited to nominate themselves, a supplier, an event or a client which they regard as deserving of wider recognition. Details of how to do that will be revealed next month. The lobbying period will stay open until Friday 31 May.
Based on the email
nominations, the team behind the Pro Sound Awards will create a list of finalists for each category. This process involves looking at the performance of those nominated companies over the past year, plus the
information provided by the lobbying emails. We don’t base finalist positions on the number of emails we receive about a particular company. The finalists for each
category will be presented to a
panel of up to 100 judges from across the wide spectrum of the pro-audio industry. These judges ultimately will choose the winners of each Pro Sound Award (with the exception of the Grand Prix and Lifetime
