ity as we now have seven granddaughters, age 8 and under, with another grandchild on the way. We were also planning a De - cember wedding for daughter Erin. Mean - while, I’ve been learning new tricks like golf and knitting, and enjoying time for gardening. I volunteered as a guardian ad litem, substitute at the neighborhood ele- mentary school, and do an occasional home staging. I feel very blessed with good health, and I love the pace of life right now.” Laurie Massolo Deredita and John were

in Peru at the time of Reunion. Their three-week trip included visiting friends in Lima, a trip to Cusco and the Inca high - lands, including Machu Picchu, and a week in Buenos Aires visiting more friends. It was Laurie’s first trip to South America. In July and August, the Dereditas were in Arizona and New Mexico, visiting archae- ological sites at Canyon de Chelly and Chaco Canyon and then attending the opera in Santa Fe. In September they flew to England to join a history tour of the Towne Family Association to Norwich and to see friends in the London area. They also had a couple of trips to California to visit daughter Anne and grandson Zach - ary. Says Laurie, “We enjoyed it all, but it is nice to be home again! Here in New London, on Long Island Sound, Hurricane Sandy knocked power out for three days, but we had no real damage.” At TidePointe in Hilton Head, SC, Sudee Sanders says she and her mother see each other often and have busy social lives. “Her three cats keep her as busy as if they were the grandchildren she doesn’t have. I live a few minutes away in the same re - tirement community that seems like a country club.” Sudee enjoys being on the member services committee and staying active off-campus in Questers, DAR, Pil - grims, and Cooking Crew. She also at - tends symphony, art, historical, and cul- tural events, including performances, trips, and holiday celebrations offered by TidePointe. Christine Wilsey Goodwin and hus- band Sy spent two weeks in Paris in Sep - tember. They did a home exchange for the first time, with a retired school teacher, which was a good experience. While in Paris, Chris took a cooking class to learn how to make French macarons. Chris invites us to the Skidmore College Class of ’67 Facebook page, set up after our 45th reunion: “When you first click on the link to the page, you will be ad - mitted by an administrator (myself or Daniella Nordin, Skidmore’s online com- munity manager).
