Fiur Fleisher, and Janet Levy Pollner and caught up with some highlights of the past 50 years. In Hudson, NY, she also had lunch with Roberta Brandes Gratz, who she also hadn’t seen in more than 50 years. Elli sang jazz standards and French favorites at a “Swing into Autumn” Sun - day brunch at the Rhinecliff (NY) Hotel in November. Cynthia Newberry and Joyce Shulster Pustilnik are NYC neighbors and see each other frequently. They recently enjoyed the Picasso Black and White exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum. Candice Taylor Boyd lives in the Mea - dows in Sarasota, FL. She’s involved in the Carl Jung Society and enjoys tennis, bik- ing, and golf with husband Dick. Sister- in-law Laura Stanley just bought a beau- tiful villa that’s a five-minute bike ride from the Boyds. Mary Briggs Segall came for a visit, having driven south with Laura from Massachusetts. They had brunch, swam in the Gulf, and enjoyed reconnect- ing. Mary was just back from working in Baghdad for USAID; she is now in Seattle and working as a consultant around the world. In Waitsfield, VT, Carolyn Heft was spared the effects of Superstorm Sandy— a relief, since her area was devastated by Irene in 2011. Carolyn, who moved to Vermont from NYC, retains some New York clients—mainly in estates, trusts, probate, and family agreements—but now has more time for community and fitness activities. She says, “I have achieved a nice small size, strength, and the best blood test results in my life. I am looking forward to good snow for snowshoeing and skiing.” She is a reading mentor at the Waitsfield elementary school. In August she enjoyed a two-week trip to eastern and central Europe. After our 50th reunion Twila Fleckten

NYC for nearly 40 years, Joslin Kimball Frank has returned to her hometown of Keene, NH. Hearing that the family house of her great-grandparents and grandpar- ents would be torn down if not sold, she says, “I bought it to save it and then had to figure out what to do with it. I decided to restore the house and open a bed and breakfast, which is how I’ve been occu- pied for the past decade.” Find more at ColonyHouse104.com or search YouTube for “Colony House Bed & Breakfast.” Polly Skogsberg Kisiel has heard won- derful feedback from classmates who loved our 50th reunion. After attending the fall Skidmore trustees meeting with Sue Corbet Thomas, Polly wrote, “I seem to always leave board meetings feeling that we have an incredible administra- tion, faculty, staff, and community work- ing for all of us at Skidmore. Sue and I miss classmate Sarah Lee Lubin Schupf and thank her for her many years on the board with us.” Cappy Pregnall Payne treated her fam -

ily to a six-day Disney cruise from NYC to Canada. “We had a fabulous time, and my daughters in turn treated me to a wonderful three nights in NYC, my for- mer residence.” Cappy stays in contact with Laura Stanley, Jodie Mislick Geb - hard, B. Anne Thompson, and Bebe Bent ley Brower. She plans to spend most of the winter with her daughter and fam ily near Dallas, TX; the other months she is near her other daughter and family in Horseheads, NY. She en - courages classmates to stay in touch with her at c40payne@hotmail.com. Emily Jansen Kane, who made it back

to Florida with husband George just be - fore Superstorm Sandy, wonders, “Who would have thought Florida was safer than New York in hurricane season?” Emily had a wonderful summer, “except for some repairs for George.” After Re - union, she went on a Skidmore tour of the new American Wing at the Met, where “the tour guide was a friend from Pelham, NY, who was the parent of Oliver Jacobi ’09—small world.” Also, her new bridge partner for the Pelham Country Club summer interclub team was Paula Galatti Canning ’82. Nancy-Jean Ballard Seigel was taking a class on opera at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at American University in Washington, DC, when a handsome and charming opera enthusiast sat down beside her. Many operas and concerts later, Nancy-Jean and Michael Daniels married. They honeymooned at a music festival on Italy’s Amalfi coast. Back home

in Bethesda, MD, they joined the board of Bel Cantanti, a small opera company; meanwhile Nancy-Jean is in her 25th year with the New Dominion Chorale. Lynn Garrett Meyer and George’s trav-

els in the Amazon included jungle trek - king and boating, a great stay with their Friendship Force hosts in Belém, a visit to Marajo Island, and a stay in Alter do Chao. Lollie Engel Triebold went on a road

trip, leaving Whitewater, WI, in August. After a stop at the Mayo Clinic for wrist work, she went to Eagle River, WI, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, then back into the States for a visit in Connecticut with daughter Karla and husband Jeff. SaraKay Sherman Smullens was already packed for Reunion when one of her old- est and dearest friends died suddenly— which is why we didn’t see her last spring. SaraKay and Stan have been married 32 years. Each previously had a young child (ages 7 to 12), and both children wanted the family to work. They succeeded, and each child is married to a terrific partner. SaraKay now has five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and one grand-dog— “all adorable,” she says. She is still a clini- cal social worker and writer. Stan is a doc- tor concentrating on patient safety. While SaraKay transferred to and graduated from Goucher College, she says her two years at Skidmore were special. She hopes to see us in five years. Ben and I had our usual vacation at the family summer cottage on Lake George in upstate New York. Five children, six grand- children (ages 1 to 9), four dogs, and a cat made for a fun, busy time. In June we had a wonderful reunion with class- mates Gwyn Palmer and Marsha Mc - George Hardy at a restaurant in Yar - mouth, ME. We’re looking forward to the 50th!”
