Leaps and bounds Skaters and gymnasts to unite in ‘spectacular’ show
Several of U.S. Figure Skating’s
top skaters will share the spotlight with an all-star cast of Olympic gymnasts at the Progressive Skat- ing & Gymnastics Spectacular, which will air on Jan. 19 as part of the Pandora NBC Skating Series. Produced by Disson Skating,
the live show takes place on Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena in Jamestown, N.Y. The show is the third of four
in the Pandora NBC Skating Series, and will air at 4 p.m. ET. Representing U.S. Figure Skat-
ing will be reigning U.S. champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White, Ash- ley Wagner and Jeremy Abbott; two-
time U.S. titlist Alissa Czisny; U.S. sil- ver medalist Adam Rippon; and U.S. junior champion Gracie Gold. From the gymnastics side,
Olympic medalists Gabrielle (Gab- by) Douglas, Danell Leyva, Jor- dyn Wieber and Alexandra (Aly) Raisman will join 2008 Olympic all- around champion Nastia Liukin in the show. Performing live will be Nickel-
odeon’s Fresh Beat Band and Ross Lynch of Disney’s “Austin and Ally,” with his band R5. Gymnastics greats Bart Conner
and Nadia Comaneci will join skat- ing legend Peggy Fleming as hosts of the show.
