26 OCTOBER: HALIFAX, CANADA A passenger on board a WestJet flight became violent and punched a flight attendant as the aircraft, arriving from Toronto, descended for landing at Halifax.


29 OCTOBER: MANILA, PHILIPPINES Tomoichi Baba, 33, was repatriated to Japan after he had been intoxicated and unruly on board a Japan Airlines flight that landed in Manila from Tokyo.


30 OCTOBER: SHANGHAI, CHINA A group of passengers held a Jetstar pilot and his crew hostage inside the airport terminal for over six hours after their flight was diverted from Beijing to Shanghai due to bad weather. The passengers thought that the crew would leave the airport and that they would have to find their own way home.


7 NOVEMBER: RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA It was reported that a Chinese man attacked employees and a mosque at the airport after he had arrived at the airport late and missed his flight.


8 NOVEMBER: NEW DELHI, INDIA Mursalin Sheikh, 40, was overpowered by passengers on board an Indigo Airlines flight en route from Mumbai to Delhi after he slapped a flight attendant and then tried to enter the cockpit.


10 NOVEMBER: MEDFORD, OREGON Melisa Lynn Levario, 32, allegedly became disruptive on board a Horizon Air flight from Seattle and had to be removed from the aircraft as soon as it landed in Medford. Levario allegedly used her mobile phone during the flight, and had been abusive to passengers and the crew.


13 NOVEMBER: SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA A passenger was met by police when his Tiger Airways flight from Brisbane landed in Sydney after he had allegedly starting smoking a cigarette on board.


19 NOVEMBER: BERLIN, GERMANY


Pop star Rihanna, who had invited 150 journalists to join her on a ‘7-day, 7-country’ concert tour, allegedly failed to give the journalists sufficient interview opportunities. Travelling with her on a B-777 chartered by Rihanna from Delta Airlines, the journalists lost patience on the Berlin to London sector when Rihanna refused to leave the Business Class cabin to speak to them. One Australian radio reporter, Tim Dormer, stripped naked and ran through the Economy cabin whist the other journalists were chanting and becoming excessively exuberant.

Senait Ashenafi, 46, who appeared in the TV series General Hospital, was arrested on her arrival in Dallas for having allegedly been intoxicated and disruptive on board a flight.


19 NOVEMBER: LAGUARDIA, NEW YORK A passenger was detained at LaGuardia for allegedly issuing a threat on board a Spirit Airlines flight, which was preparing to depart for Fort Lauderdale, when the crew asked him to turn off his mobile phone.


20 NOVEMBER: NAGPUR, INDIA Manoj Virkhare was arrested when an Indigo Airlines flight, en route from Delhi to Pune via Nagpur, landed in Nagpur. He was intoxicated and aggressive.


20 NOVEMBER: BUFFALO, NEW YORK Leodis McKelvin, a cornerback with the Buffalo Bills, was met at the gate by police when his Delta Airlines flight from LaGuardia landed in Buffalo. He had allegedly refused to turn off his mobile phone and become argumentative with the crew.


22 NOVEMBER: ISTANBUL, TURKEY A man who claimed to be carrying explosives on an Onur Air flight from Antalya to Istanbul was arrested on arrival.


24 NOVEMBER: PIARCO, TRINIDAD Jacques Heroux allegedly became intoxicated and disruptive on aboard an American Airlines flight en route from Miami to Recife, Brazil. The flight diverted to Piarco after the crew had restrained him.


25 NOVEMBER: DALLAS, TEXAS


30 OCTOBER: PETROPAVLOVSK- KAMCHATSKY, RUSSIA A 22-year-old man told fellow passengers on an S7 aircraft, preparing for departure from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky airport for Vladivostok and Novosibirsk, that a bomb was hidden on board. Everybody deplaned and the man was arrested.


10 NOVEMBER: MUMBAI, INDIA Sandeep Menon was arrested for allegedly telephoning GoAir offices and telling them that there was a suicide bomber on board one of their flights preparing to depart for Delhi. The flight was delayed. It later emerged that Menon wanted to stop his business partner, Ambrish Parikh, from leaving Mumbai and had indicated that Parikh was the bomber.


26 NOVEMBER: MIAMI, FLORIDA Dr. Alejandro Hurtado, a 63-year- old Guatemalan doctor, allegedly told a TACA airlines ticket agent that he had dynamite in his baggage, prompting the evacuation of Terminal J.

8 OCTOBER: LANZHOU, CHINA A China Southern flight, en route from Urumqi to Beijing, diverted to Lanzhou when a man, later named as Wang, allegedly issued a threat against the flight.


9 OCTOBER: LHASA, TIBET Air China received a telephone bomb threat citing one of its flights from Lhasa to Beijing.


9 OCTOBER: JIANXI, CHINA Air China received a telephone bomb threat citing one of its flights from Nanchang, in Jiangxi Province, to Beijing.


14 OCTOBER: YOGYAKARTA, INDONESIA An Italian man allegedly made a bomb threat against a Lion Air flight about to depart Yogyakarta for Denpasar when his wife failed to check-in for the flight.


14 OCTOBER: ANCHORAGE, ALASKA Peter Friesema was arrested for allegedly claiming there was a bomb in his bag as he checked in for an Alaska Airlines flight.


25 OCTOBER: GENEVA, SWITZERLAND The airport was partially shut down after a man claimed he had parked a car full of explosives in front of the terminal.
