What a coincidence, referring to the arti- cle about Mr. Denny, (Oct. 2012), the target drone and the reason for designing it. I had no idea that he was the designer of that and model aircraft engines. I knew of him as a movie actor and RAF pilot.

I am a volunteer at the Kalamazoo Avia- tion History Museum and have just begun restoration on an OQ 2A that is on loan to the museum. It is in fair condition consider- ing its age as can be seen in the photo, but does need all new fabric.

It’s sad that Reg didn’t get proper recogni- tion while he was alive, but this quite often happens to people long after they have passed.

I’ll send another photo when we finish the project. Keep up the great work there at FM. I can hardly wait till the next issue arrives. GEORGE DARNELL Battle Creek, MI

Good luck with the restoration of the OQ 2A. We look forward to seeing the finished project. Thank you for letting our readers know where they might soon see this unique piece of history.

–EDITOR It was a good time

Our Tenth Annual Scale Rally and Fun- Fly took place on Saturday, September 15th, and was very successful. Many pilots from

numberous clubs in the surrounding area attended, the rain held off until the after- noon, and we had a great time. The success of our event was due largely to the continuing generosity of sponsors like yourself, whose names were prominently displayed on our website, our Scale Rally poster, and circulated to each flyer. This event is the main fundraiser for our club and we appreciate the support you have given us over the years. As a small token of our thanks, we are enclosing a group photo of some of the pilots with a selection of their fa- vorite aircraft.

Thank you very much for your support. ROGER LANGLEY Long Sault Flyers Ontario, Canada

Bringing back memories FLYING MODELS introduced me to Jimmie Allen models more than 17 years ago. The models are beautiful examples of pre-war fantasy aircraft. When I learned of the radio show, I lamented the fact that the radio days were long gone.

Well, the following link will bring back Jimmie and Speed Robertson for your listen- ing pleasure. Maybe some readers will expe- rience the fun of building the planes from the show:
