Building the Kitten Since the Kitten is such a simple airplane in full scale, it’s an easy build in 1:12.8 scale too. The basic design is very similar to a freeflight model, the only major difference being the elevator and rudder hinging and the wing spar system. And for those who prefer to work with laser-cut parts, drop a

Construction begins with the fuselage side frames, built directly over the provided framing plan. The sides are joined with for-
mers and cross pieces and the stringers added to complete the basic structure. The landing gear is bent from .025-inch steel wire, soldered together and lashed to the fuselage with thread and secured with thin CyA.
