Renovations, Expansions, & New Builds
Singapore Forward thinking and moving forward
Eco centered MAX Atria, a new addition to Singapore EXPO Convention and Exhibition Centre, has earned the Green Mark Platinum certification from the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore.
Singapore, a small city-state in Southeast Asia, offers rich and rewarding meeting experiences in a modern, business-friendly destination. Ever evolving, the Lion City keeps business travelers coming back and discover- ing something new and personally enriching on every visit. The recently redesigned Garden Wing at
the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, unveiled this summer as part of a $50-million renova- tion, features the new Waterfall Garden Café and Singapore’s first CHI Spa. Resorts World Sentosa also debuted a new addition this summer — the Tree Top Lofts, two exclusive accommodations where guests can get away and relax in a verdant canopy high above the city. This past September, W Hotels made its
first foray into Singapore with the opening of the W Singapore — Sentosa Cove, located on the exclusive Sentosa Island. The 240-

room property has two bars and lounges, two restaurants, and the brand’s signature GYM and AWAY Spa. Singapore will also wel- come PARKROYAL on Pickering later this year, featuring a 160,000-square-foot sky garden garnished with pools and waterfalls. The property will implement a number of sustainability initiatives, including rainwater harvesting and energy- and water-regulating sensors. Along with new hotel rooms and event
spaces come more attractions. Gardens by the Bay revealed the new Bay South Garden this past June. Visitors can experience the Flower Dome’s changing floral displays and the choreographed light and sound show at the Supertree Grove, as well as dining and retail experiences. Entry to Bay South Gar- den is free, with the exception of the cooled conservatories, which showcase plants from two of the world’s most endangered habitats.
Event spaces in the new Bay South Garden include the Flower Market and Main Event Lawn, which can accommodate events of up to 7,000 guests. Singapore is also continually enhancing
its meeting and convention facilities. The Sin- gapore EXPO Convention and Exhibition Cen- tre’s new venue, MAX Atria, offers three levels of unique meeting and event space, including a 5,000-square-foot, tree-filled rooftop. Sun- tec Singapore is embarking on a $147-million modernization, which will update the facility with new technology, including a two-story interactive digital wall and contemporary new façade.
