A
Caribbean Treasure, Spectacular by Nature is the hallmark of
Montserrat, which is located 27 miles or a short 20 minutes fl ight from Antigua. The island combines breath-
taking vistas and some of the friendliest people in the Caribbean with unique festivals and other events. There is also a distinctive blend of cuisine alongside an active volcano.
A soon-to-be-built town centre in Carrs/Little Bay will be geared toward residential and commercial activity. Still a British Territory, Montserrat is a haven for nature enthusiasts with its many hiking
trails and dive/snorkel sites. Other activities include fi shing, bird watching, turtle watching and views of the active Soufriere Hills Volcano and buried villages. Not to be outdone, Montserrat also showcases a number of unique festivals including the St. Patrick’s Festival in March, thanks to a rich Irish ancestry. There is also the Calabash Festival in
July, the Volcano Half Marathon in November/December, and a Literary Festival in November/ December. The star attraction is the year-end Festival in December/ January. In 2012/13 Montserrat celebrates 50 years of Festival! A number of unique
accommodation options around the island geared to suit all tastes and budgets is also available.

T
he island of Nevis is naturally one of the best-kept secrets of the
Caribbean. British Admiral Horatio Nelson, captain of His Majesty’s Ship the Boreas, stopped at Nevis to water his ship on his many visits to the region. On March 11, 1787 he fell in love and married a local Nevisian beauty, Frances Herbert Nisbet, on the grounds of Montpelier Plantation. It is often said that Nevis evokes memories of the Caribbean as it used to be. A time when life was more peaceful, when stress was just a word, not a way of life. Browsing in the local market,
