MOULD REGULATION GIWW steams in with RTC update


UK-based Gas Injection Worldwide Limited (GIWW) has launched a new and more compact version of its Rapid Temperature Cycling (RTC) steam heating controller for mould temperature regulation. The new controller


integrates the steam controller and boiler, which has enabled footprint to be reduced. It also operates at higher pressures (13-30 bar)


which enables steam tempera- tures of up to 235˚C to be achieved, compared to the 180˚C upper limit of its predecessor. This can cut mould heating times by up to a third, says the company, which helps reduce cycle times. RTC technology uses steam heating and water cooling to allow the temperature of the mould to be cycled during the moulding process. By injecting the molten polymer into a hot

Austrian machinery maker Engel has introduced a standalone version of its Flomo temperature control system, which it claims will broaden application opportuni- ties for the technology. Since its introduction in 2010, Engel has installed more than 500 Flomo systems on its

moulding machines. The company says the system is one of the most compact manually adjustable water distribution devices to offer both temperature control and electronic monitoring features. The new standalone version is equipped with its own control system and can be


used as a mould temperature controller or as a mobile mould monitoring device. The new unit also

Priamus updates cost saving software


Moulding process monitoring and regulation specialist Priamus has introduced a new version of its free Cost-Benefit-Analysis software. The new version, which


can be downloaded from the service/software page at the company’s website, now supports Windows 7 64-bit operating systems. It allows users to enter their process requirements to obtain an estimate of the annual savings and return on investment that could be realised using Priamus’s process monitoring and control technologies to reduce scrap and reject part production.
