ers with a comprehensive application development service, integrating its side-entry robot with label distribution, transfer, electrostatic loading and removal modules supplied by Machines Pagès. The company says it will be offering systems for machines from 100 to 500 tonnes suitable for applica- tion to parts such as lids, pots and trays. Each side- entry robot incorporates a rigid single-piece frame structure, prismatic linear guide rails and Sepro’s Visual 3 control. The IML system will be demonstrated on the Sepro stand at the show on a Sumitomo-Demag moulding machine. The new articulated robots extend a six-year

range of hot runner products. The SumoFmax is a lever operated lifting plate, which uses a slide guide system with integrated crank to provide a high closing force that increases exponen- tially during the actuation stroke. Aside from its high closing force, the new lifting system is also said to be highly compact. Also new is the VCon system for sequential control of

valve pins. VCon is a self-supporting unit that can be used with any injection moulding machine. The company says it is well matched for use with the ProfiTemp hot runner controller. Protec Polymer Processing (Hall B3, Stand 3119)

will show a new gravimetric batch dosing system designed to handle up to four components, together with a new conveying control unit. The Somos BB150 batch doser is designed for

feeding injection moulding machines or overfed extruders. Designed for direct mounting onto the feed throat of the processing machine, the unit can handle throughputs of up to 150kg/h and can be equipped with optional suction conveyor loaders if required. Also new is the MH5 conveyor control system, which

can operate as a single or multiple feed unit in net- works of up to 12 conveyors, avoiding the need for a costly multiple feed controller for small installations. French automation company Sepro Robotique (Hall

A1, Stand 1203) says it will display 16 different robots on its stand at the Fakuma fair, including its first side entry models developed for high performance IML applica- tions, two new articulated designs developed for plastics moulding applications in partnership with Staubli, and its latest family of beam robots. Sepro has made its move into IML systems in

partnership with Machines Pagès, a French IML specialist with more than two decades of expertise in this sector. The robot maker will be providing custom-

relationship between the French company and Staubli of Switzerland. The new models include: the 5X line of three-axis beam robots configured with a Staubli two-axis wrist; and the 6X full articulated line. Both are controlled by Sepro’s Visual 3 system. Providing a 5ms scan rate, this control system is designed to integrate with intelligent sensors, RFID readers and cameras for quality determination or placement tasks. It includes a path tracking function that makes it possible to move a part through a complex series of part removal and post mould operations in five or six axes. Sepro’s stand will also feature examples of all four models in its recently expanded Success robot line, which now covers the machine range from 20 to 700 tonnes. The mid-sized Success 22 robot has been joined by two smaller units – Success 7 and 11 – and the larger Success 33. The Success robots use the same basic platform as the company’s S5 product line and are described as general purpose models intended for pick-and-place and basic downstream handling operations. They are supplied as standard with Sepro’s Touch 2 control with the option to upgrade to Visual 2 available. The main feature of the Sumitomo (SHI) Demag

stand (Hall B1, Stand 1105) at Fakuma will be the company’s introduction of the IntElect Multi series, its first all-electric machines configured for multi-compo-
