Organic, baby!

➊ Little Duck Organics Tiny Fruits. Made with certified-organic fruit, these gluten-free dried snacks have no added sugar and come in four flavors: Strawberry & Mango; Apple & Banana; Pineapple & Mango; and Blueberry & Apple. Parents, sprinkle Tiny Fruits over your yogurt for a superfast breakfast.

➋ Oh Baby. These ready-to-serve purées contain exclusively U.S.-grown fruits, veggies, and—surprise!—yummy herbs. Rock your baby’s taste buds with LavenBerry (beets, cranberries, apples, and lavender flower), Wise Punkin (sweet potato, apricot, pumpkin, and sage), AmazeMint (apples, spinach, kale, and spearmint), and more.

➌ NurturMe. With less eco-impact and more convenience than jars or squeeze pouches, these gluten-free, powdered fruits and veggies reconstitute with water, formula, or breast milk. Add to toddler foods, too—think Hearty Sweet Potatoes mixed into mac ‘n’ cheese. Sweet bonus: NurturMe supports Feed the Children.

➍ Sprout Organic Toddler Meals. Excited to expand your tot’s palate? Food Network chef and dad Tyler Florence co-created eight sophisticated but kid-proven heat-and-serve meals with chewable worldly ingredients. Our toddler tester gave two messy thumbs up to the Vegetable Risotto with Quinoa and Parmesan.

➎ Miles Outside. A camping and backpacking couple created this lightweight baby food for their go-along son. The dehydrated mixes combine healthy whole grains and fruits—we dig Monkey Meal with barley, oats, millet, and bananas—for energizing, on-the-go meals. Love the see-through pouches, too.

Few things are more refreshing than the sweet-tart bite of a just-off-the- branch apple. Laden with nutrients like fiber, heart-healthy quercetin, and polyphenols, this white-fleshed fruit even has tooth-scrubbing properties. But according to the Environmental Working Group, pesticides showed up on 98 percent of 700 conventional apples recently sampled, even after they were washed. Need more convincing to buy organic?

1. Apples are one of the top fruits that American children consume.

2. Conventional applesauce, another kid favorite, can retain pesticides.

3. Even EPA-approved organo- phosphate pesticide levels may contribute to human brain and nervous system disruption, according to recent studies.

4. Apples are frequently sprayed with Paraquat, a pesticide that may cause Parkinson’s disease.

5. Pesticide spraying, runoff, or drift can directly harm the health of families living in agricultural communities.
