The triangular fuselage frame is built up by making up the three basic frames (above left), then pinning the top frame down and assembling the sides to it. When the sides are aligned then the keel members can be glued. To assemble the landing gear (above right) fasten the fuselage frame to your bench and

This “slip tube” will provide a degree of shock absorbtion for the chute landings. To assemble the landing gear lash down the fuselage firmly to the bench topside down. position. Make up the two braces for each strut, trimming and fitting them to suit. Fit these struts into their respective tubes on the fuse- lage, wrap them to the slip tube with fine cop- per wire, then solder the joint. The landing gear assembly can now be removed until after the fuselage has been covered and finished. Wheels can be made up from laminated balsa sheet. The full scale wheels were near-

ly flat on each side. The hub was wood and the wheels were solid rubber. This can be simulated with felt tipped pen and clear spray. The fin and stabilizers are identical. They can be built over the plan on wax paper in

typical fashion. To make the bends use 1⁄16× 1⁄8-inch balsa, soaked in water first, then bent over a bottle of the approximate radius
