Brodak 2012 Fly-in
Sixteen years and Brodak’s fly in has no signs of slowing down!

riving to the southwest burg of Carmichaels, PA, for this annual fly-in is unlike the drive to any other major C/L Stunt contest.
While driving to the Nats offers miles of flat but verdant farmland and driving to Tucson for VSC offers mountains and desert, dri- ving to the Brodak Fly-In provides big green hill after little green hill after big green hill —and the flying circles themselves are sur-
rounded by woods and hills. For weather, there was very little to com-
plain about, with only a little innocuous rain on the first day and no significant winds. However, even a light wind that varies in di- rection and strength, especially as it rolls over adjacent trees, is quite cruel enough. And even on days with a light but steady wind, one can always complain about the sun in one’s eyes…
This year’s attendance was very good, be-
ing within a few of last year’s count. The In- termediate class was the largest for all the Stunt contests (up to 23) with Advanced a close second (up to 21), Foxberg and Clown racing had 9 and 10 teams, respectively, Scale contests had 25 contestants, Carrier had 24 entries, Junkyard Wars had 7 teams, and Speed-Limit Combat had a fine total of 19 entries.
