bringing groups to the city easier than ever. For starters, the Amarillo CVC will launch a
dedicated meeting-planner website, www.meetinamarillo.com, by Jan. 1, 2011. Downtown Amarillo now has a new,
100-room Courtyard by Marriott, located in the historic Fisk Building and convenient to downtown dining, businesses, and the Ama- rillo Civic Center. Also, a new full-service, 150-room Holiday Inn is under construction
and slated for completion by mid-2011. It will offer more than 8,000 square feet of meeting space, a restaurant, and other amenities. Early 2011 is the expected completion date
for a brand-new passenger terminal at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport. Of course, Amarillo already has plenty to
recommend it as a destination for association events of all kinds. The Amarillo Civic Center has more than 400,000 square feet of flexible space, with options that span everything from large meeting halls, to a 5,000-seat coliseum, to a new performance hall.
