Welcome to Dana Point W

CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD

elcome to our beautiful, seaside City of Dana Point. With seven miles of coastal bluffs, pristine beaches and the magnificent Pacific

Ocean, Dana Point has become the center for visitors and residents alike to enjoy coastal living. Our residents, busi- nesses and city officials are here to help you experience all that Dana Point has to offer.

Exciting things are happening in our city as we continue to work

toward our vision of destination Dana Point. Dana Point Harbor, operated by Orange County, is moving ahead with final approvals on a multi- million dollar revitalization project that will add approximately 30,000 square feet of new retail space, more than 400 additional parking spaces, improved landscaping throughout the area and new boater facili- ties. New events and activities have been added to the already robust calendar, including the Taste of Doheny, Dana Point World-Class BBQ Championship in addition to the expansion of existing events, including the Rainbow Sandals Gerry Lopez Battle of the Paddle, the Festival of the Whales, Doheny Days, the Rotary Lobsterfest and the Annual Dana Point Turkey Trot. The City of Dana Point continues to focus on the future by overseeing new and redevelopment projects throughout our city like, the Doheny Village and Town Center Projects. As Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Dana Point Chamber of

Commerce, I invite all of you to become actively involved in our Cham- ber. You have an opportunity to become part of one of the most influ- ential organizations in Dana Point. Not only can our Chamber help you develop both personally and professionally, but also we can help con- nect you with the people and resources to make a significant impact in your life and the lives of others. The Dana Point Chamber of Commerce is committed to working with our local community, civic and business leaders for the future of our beautiful community. We mean business!

elcome to Dana Point! Whether this is your first visit or you are a resident of our beauti- ful seaside community, the 2012-2013 Dana

Point Chamber of Commerce Destination Guide and Busi- ness Directory will surely come in handy. Beyond the spectacular grounds of our elite resorts, you’ll find much to offer in our charming town. Live music,

restaurants and unique shops can be found in our Town Center. On the promontory of land known as the Headlands, you can walk the trails to experience our natural splendor and take in breathtaking views of some of the best beaches in Southern California. Venture down to the Harbor to enjoy a myriad of watersports, plus world-class sportfishing and the ultimate whale and dolphin watching on the West Coast. One of the best ways to show your love for Dana Point is to shop

locally for goods and services and support small business owners. Many of them are our friends and neighbors as well as proud members of the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce. Studies have shown that for every $100 spent in independently owned stores, $68 returns to the commu- nity through taxes, payroll and other expenditures. These locally owned businesses help keep our economy healthy and maintain a diverse, vibrant business environment. There’s so much to do and see — plus we have an exciting year-round calendar of events. Plan to spend a week or two in Dana Point, and like the whales do each year, I hope you’ll come back again soon.
