DANA POINT CITY GOVERNMENT Incorporated as a city in 1989, Dana Point is governed by a part-time City Council made up of five members who serve four-year terms. A City Manager hired by the council runs the city day-to-day. Dana Point encompasses 6.5 square miles and has approxi- mately 33,351 residents in approximately 14,182 households. The median age is 44.8, and more than 94.8 percent of adults have high school degrees and 44.1 percent a bachelor’s degree or higher. The median family income is about $80,609.
