Annual Statistical Report The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) has released its 2011 Annual Statistical Report. The 2011 ASR shows that the U.S. and NAFTA steel markets continued a slow and modest recovery in 2011 versus 2010. It also reveals that, while U.S. and NAFTA steel production and shipments both in- creased in 2011, they remained below pre-recession levels and import gains exceeded those of U.S. and NAFTA producers. LEED for Homes is a national voluntary certifi - cation system that provides guidance and verifi cation that homes are designed and built to be energy- and resource-effi cient and healthy for occupants. Since the launch of LEED for Homes in 2008, more than 20,000 residential units have certifi ed with nearly 79,000 additional units in the pipeline. addresses code requirements A new white paper from the Metal Construction Association (MCA) addresses how the architect or designer can be assured that construction products for their building project meet estab- lished performance and safety standards. The one-page "Does Your Delivered Building Material Actually Meet Code Requirements?" is available as a PDF document at no charge on the MCA website. The paper describes the three most common

approaches for ensuring the product does meet all the requirements: test reports, specifi c test listing/ labeling reports and model building code listing/ labeling reports. The white paper was written by members of the MCA's Metal Composite Material Fabricator Council and includes a chart to simplify the three approaches discussed.
