USATF, in partnership with the USOC, is making every possible effort to assist personal coaches & medical as they support their Olympic athletes in London for the 2012 Olympic Games. While credentials are very limited and strictly controlled by the IOC, USATF will not be able to offer an Olympic Games credential to personal coaches & medical at this point, however the USOC & USATF are providing limited housing at East London University (all single rooms at the preferred USOC rate of $170 per night including meals) and access to the Miles End track (USATF’s High Performance Training Facility) for a limited number of personal coaches & medical. USATF’s Personal Coaches/Medical Policy will be used to identify those who will receive these services. Because these are USOC managed facilities, all potential candidates are required to register with the USOC and pass the USOC criminal background screen in order to be considered eligible. Personal medical must also pass the USOC medical background screen and provide USATF will a current medical license. The USOC registration deadline has passed, however, the USOC is continuing to allow personal coaches and medical to complete the online registration and background screening. Successfully completing the USOC registration process places you on the eligibility list but DOES NOT guarantee you any services.

In order to apply for access to the USOC High Performance Training Facility and the housing at East London University Docklands, personal coaches and personal medical personnel must pay a $35 registration fee, pass a criminal USOC background check (personal medical staff are required to pass an additional USOC medical background check with an additional fee), complete the USOC online registration, and return all required USOC forms to USATF. Remember the deadline is past thus please begin the process today. It will take a few days to complete everything. We do not know at what time the USOC and the London organizers will close the registration process.
The USATF Coaches Registry, which is required of all coaches
to be eligible for USATF benefits, will accept the USOC background screen for elite coaches. This will eliminate the need of securing two background screens if your USATF Coaches Registry is due for renewal as a coach who entered the Registry in 2010.
