Dynacord joins EV in the UK once more

UNITED KINGDOM By Dave Robinson

AS OF 1 April 2012, EV UK has become the ProSound division of Bosch Security Systems UK, distributing both Dynacord and Electro-Voice brands in the UK. Following the dissolution of Shuttlesound last summer, former MD Sean Maxwell formed a Peterborough-based company to promote Electro- Voice products in the UK. With a brand-new showroom and a staff of six at his disposal, Maxwell has now been given stewardship of sister-brand Dynacord – hence a change of company name. “The guys were doing a great job and business is good, so Bosch took the decision to give them Dynacord too,” Robert Hesse, vice president sales

Allen & Heath: Puttin’ on the Britz

An A&H iLive system was chosen for the castle

By Erica Basnicki

AN ALLEN & HEATH iLive digital mixing system was recently installed at The Britz Castle in Berlin-Neukölln, Germany. The castle was recently converted into a new cultural centre, including a 300-capacity concert and theatre hall. Installer System Integration

Berlin was asked to provide a future-proof digital system that could easily be used by sound

engineers of guest productions. The system also needed to be portable so it could be used in other areas in the venue besides the theatre hall. The iLive system comprises a Dante-enabled iDR-32 MixRack with iLive-T80 Control Surface, plus a PL-10 rotary panel for remote control. Allen & Heath reports that the “iLive’s competitive price, built in compressor and EQ, as well as the possibility of the live recording of events via a laptop through the Dante interface, were the main reasons it was selected”. System Integration Berlin’s

Dirk Förster commented: “iLive meets all requirements and expectations. The system is light weight, which made the installation easy, and has amazing technical flexibility.” www.allen-heath.com

communication EMEA and managing director of EVI Audio, told PSNEurope. “This is the same model that we use in Germany.” Hesse states this approach also clearly segments the distribution of professional audio products from Bosch UK’s Middlesex-based PACO (Public Address & Conference Systems) business – though he fully expects ProSound and Bosch to collaborate on installation projects, and emphasised the “great benefits between Dynacord, EV and Bosch working together in such a way”. Hesse notes that there is no

real conflict between EV and Dynacord. “In this way, for instance, we can supply EV microphones and PA speakers with a Dynacord PowerMate mixer: a total solution.”

Regarding the one area

of obvious overlap in the product space – Dynacord and Electro-Voice amplifiers – Maxwell comments: “Now we can also offer a branded solution: one customer can have Dynacord speakers and amps, another an Electro-Voice system.”

Hesse

adds: “We foresee a great future for Dynacord in this new structure.” In other news, previous UK Dynacord distributor, Polar Audio, has since filled the gap in its portfolio by becoming
