A BRAND new facility in Valencia, Spain, for the Berklee College of Music features acoustic design by Walters- Storyk Design Group (WSDG), an international provider of studio design and acoustical consultancy. The facility is one of two major concurrent projects for the American music college and WSDG. In addition to the Valencia
campus, WSDG is designing a new 16-storey, $100 million (€757,000) structure in Boston for the college. “We have a long-standing
relationship with WSDG, and with architect/acoustician John Storyk who designed Electric Lady Studios for Jimi Hendrix among many world-class studios all over the world,” Berklee president Roger H Brown commented. “In addition to designing a number of teaching
studios and media rooms for our Boston campus, Mr Storyk is a visiting professor for our MP&E (music production and engineering) Department.” In Valencia, Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava designed
Berklee’s ultra-modern new building featuring an academic area and a music technology complex. The music technology complex includes a recording studio equipped with a 48-channel Euphonix System 5
