Sustainable Business of the Year 2012 The shortlisted companies vying to be crowned ‘Sustainable Business of the Year 2012’ will have one last chance to impress the judges on stage in Birmingham at SB – The Event.
Sponsored by NQA, the award final- ists include: East Midlands Airport; Sark Island Hotels; Sainsbury’s; The Green House Hotel; Willmott Dixon; and Wellcome Trust Genome Campus. The companies have been shortlisted
for the prize in this year’s Energy & Environment Awards – and representatives from each firm have been invited to explain to the live crowd why they believe they deserve the trophy. All six companies impressed the judges with their commitment to developing sustainable business models and they will now battle it out in the final leg of the contest on stage at 12.30pm on Day One of the show.
The winner will be crowned at an awards dinner held on Tuesday 22 May at Birmingham’s Motorcycle Museum.
Energy from Waste show launched The publisher of SB and organiser of Sustainabilitylive!, Faversham House, is proud to announce the launch of Energy from Waste Expo coming in 2013. The exhibition will be dedicated to the energy from waste (EfW) industry and will co-locate with the fast growing ener- gy and water exhi- bitions, Nemex & Iwex that already form part of Sustainabilitylive! being held at the NEC,
Birmingham on 16-18 April 2013. With the EU directive requirement for 15% of UK energy from renewables by 2020 and continued concerns about the cost effectiveness of some forms of renewable sources, the EfW market is now becoming increasingly attractive as a key growth area. With significant incentives on offer through the Renewable Heat Incentive and the emerging Green Deal, now is the time for manufacturers and farmers, engineers and land owners to meet the renewables challenge. The new launch is aligned with the Energy from Waste guidance that Defra in association with WRAP are providing, offering clarity to the industry on technology options and best practice. Designed so that buyers and specifiers can make the most of their day covering EfW in all its forms, the event is set to become the largest EfW event in the UK, with the leading practitioners, innovators and visionaries all co-located at the NEC, providing a truly integrated offering for exhibitors and visitors alike. “The burgeoning growth within the EfW market will be reflected at Energy from Waste Expo and will provide a showcase for the full spectrum of EfW disciplines,” said Donna Bushell, Sustainabilitylive!’s event director. “Co-location with Nemex and Iwex provides a compelling reason for both visitors and exhibitors to attend.”
