Engage 1/2 Sustainabilitylive! 2012 preview SB – The Event back with a bang low-carbon economy.

The UK’s No.1 expo for sustainable busi- ness returns next month with a fantastic line-up of speakers from the worlds of business, academia, science and policy. This year’s Sustainable Business – The Event will frame issues such as supply chain management, footprinting and stakeholder engagement in a necessary context that places profitability at the heart of the debate.

Held as the central focus of Sustainabilitylive! at the NEC, Birmingham, the unique three-day conference sits within the exhibition space, providing the perfect platform for corporate sustainability strategy issues to be addressed alongside the products and services that will aid the creation of a low-carbon economy.

“Of course, sustainability should start with impact reduction, but I’m much more interested in looking at how businesses are using the agenda as a profit generator – establishing new products that tap into the market, while investing in solutions that save money,” said SB editor, Tom Idle.

And it is these stories that will be at the heart of the debate, with the likes of London 2012, CBI, Marks & Spencer, Eurostar, Virgin Media, Diageo, Nestlé, B&Q, InterfaceFLOR, Alliance Boots, Marshalls and TUI Travel keen to share their experiences of best practice and collaboration.

Opened by Transport Minister Norman Baker, the conference – sponsored by NQA and powerPerfector – is focused around 13 core themes, includ- ing: policy drivers; developing smarter corporate strategies; sustainability reporting; water efficiency strategies;
