Some 2,500 people are expected to descend on the Royal Armouries in Leeds on 17-18 April, for a show that sold out in record time. Highlights of the programme include
Examining the Restoration of Newcastle’s Theatre Royal, with Sansome Hall Architects’ Peter Hall, Jon Woodley of Charcoalblue, Theatresearch’s David Wilmore and Mark Priestley from Unusual Rigging. The session will discuss how historically authentic refurbishment and 21st-century technologies do not have to be mutually exclusive. Listen Up! Diagnosing Sound System
Problems with Our Ears will be pre- sented by The Institute of Sound and Communication Engineers. The demon- stration will be led by UK sound system practitioners Peter Mapp and Jon Raper, and is aimed at those interested in learn- ing how to optimise and efficiently fault-find a pro install audio system. The PLASA Focus Exhibitor Demo Room will host d&b audiotechnik’s Can You Hear Me at the Back?, which will explore how to deliver sound to every
single seat in the house. Audio-Technica will discuss An Insight
Into Medium/Large Scale Wireless Installation. The session will start with an overview of licensing, including infor- mation on channel 38 wireless systems, before a discussion on distribution sys- tems and antenna mounting. PLASA Events manager Sophie
Atkinson commented: “We are bringing a broad choice of sessions to Leeds, including a look at some exciting regional projects and some special ses- sions presented by some of the industry’s most talented people.” The event will also provide the first
opportunity in the UK to see a number of products launched at the recent ISE and Prolight + Sound trade shows.
