Sector Showcase Mounting solutions
With displays becoming ever more pervasive in all sectors of business and public environments, James McGrath explores some of the different mounting solutions available to integrators
Audipack shows public displays its affection
Acknowledging a rise in the number of videowall applications in public environments, Audipack has introduced the VWM Basic range of videowall mounting systems, which targets cutting installation times and overall project costs. The Basic range offers a cost-effective solution to display projects for installations in shopping centres, stores and congress centres. Simply designed, the mount system
comprises minimal components saving on material costs and providing a less-fuss mounting option. One set of mounting arms – available in three different lengths depending on the size of screen – can fit up to three screens stacked one on top of the other. A mounted back plate connects each vertical column to form an array of screens within a videowall configuration.
Audipack says the new design facilitates the alignment of the screens, and this reduces the time taken by an installer to find the right fit. Each mounting arm has an integrated adjustment feature that enables horizontal and vertical alterations to find the right monitor position for each complete row and column. This feature ensures the ideal alignment is found for any videowall configuration. Screens between the sizes of 40in and
60in are accommodated by this solution, and the company says that the mounts have been specifically designed for thin bezel screens.
Mounting arms are provided for VESA
200 and VESA 400.

OmniMount has the key to movable displays
Modern displays harness more power, enhanced technology and superior resolutions. OmniMount has reflected the different uses a single television or display can have by deploying a range of mounts with movement. Arriving as part of the ActionMount
edition, the Play range has been designed to provide a multipurpose mounting solution. The range provides a movable solution to enable a single display to be used for different content applications such as for fitness, a workstation, 3D or group viewing. Three models make up the range: the
Play40, Play20 and Play20X. All of the Play editions enable displays to pan 180º, arming the screens with the potential to open up viewing angles to more rooms and
people, as well as optimising the presentation of 3D content. The Play40 can accommodate screens in
excess of 60in and provides 21in of vertical and horizontal movement with the adjustable arm. The Play20 and Play20X models fit devices up to 32in and grant 15in of vertical and horizontal movement – with an additional option of a 9in arm extension for the Play20X. Despite the Play40 having the ability to
hold screens up to 40lb (18.2kg) in weight and the Play20 models up to 20lb (9.1kg), the effort required to position and reposition the display is minimal, thanks to the incorporation of Ergotron’s Constant Force Technology into the mechanism.
www.omnimount.com Peerless has done the maths with a mount that cuts the calculations
Created for displays between 40in and 65in, and available to mount screens in both landscape and portrait aspect, the new DS-VW765 Full-Service Video Wall Mount from Peerless has something a little different to offer the installer. The modular make-up of the system
enables ‘unlimited’ videowall display configurations, and the mount specialist claims a videowall can quickly take shape after the first mount has been installed, thanks to its wall plate spacer, which has been customised for different models of display. Peerless has taken measurements from
leading manufacturers’ displays, so that using the relevant wall plate spacer ensures that each mount can be spaced the correct

distance apart – removing the need for any tedious and complicated calculations on-site. Other features such as eight-point tool-
less micro-adjustment can be used to level and align the screens with greater accuracy. Peerless believes a 60% reduction in average mounting times can be achieved with this latest solution. Withdrawing the mount for maintenance and input changes is aided by the pull- out/prop-open spring-loaded arm feature. According to the company, this offers quick-service access; following any checks or changes, the display clicks back into place. Security hardware can also be applied to stop the mount extending out from the wall
via the spring- loaded
mechanism. Adjustable VESA mounting hole patterns are available in 100mm increments for the system, starting at 200 x 200mm rising up to 700 x 400mm; additional patterns can be supported with an adapter plate.
