chools and colleges across the United Kingdom (UK) have the opportunity to win a trip of a lifetime, courtesy of the newly launched ‘Educational Journey of the Year’ Award. With a brief entry of 350 words, schools can put themselves forward for an amazing prize: A six day adventure in Morocco! The package includes a six day adventure tour of Morocco, including Marrakech, a camel safari, a night in the desert, a visit to the UNESCO site of Ait Benhaddou and a day in the life of a Berber experience in the Atlas Mountains. The full board trip also includes the services of an English speaking tour leaders for the duration of the trip.


To qualify for the competition a journey must have taken place in the academic year September 2011 to September 2012 in a country other than the UK. Journeys may be arranged in-house or through an external (third party) tour operator, and can be of any nature - sport, subject related, adventurous, link school visit, music or other. Judges will look at several different criteria, including whether the trip pushed boundaries, its cultural impact, the activities and experiences, responsible and ethical tourism and the educational outcomes before, during and after the trip. The Award has been launched by educational travel experts Stretching Horizons to celebrate the
