UK’s first Teacher Cooperative recognises Britain’s best teachers and the very best in classroom content

B

rilliant classroom resources, developed by Britain’s best teachers, are the focus of a brand new teacher cooperative

http://tute.com/sc/Home/OurTeacherCooperat ive co-owned by Tute Education and contributors from the teaching community. Essentially a ‘creative exchange’, qualified teachers uploading content to the site can opt to sell their resources or trade and exchange them for someone else’s. Registered teachers will have a dedicated e- portfolio space to display their resources, video tutorials and blog posts. “It’s a win win situation!”, said Allan Grubb, from All Saints Academy in Dunstable, one of the first teachers to register with the cooperative. “Having invested my own personal time developing resources to help

my students learn, it will be great to be able to share my content with peers and to see how well my work is received. At last, first class teaching will receive the recognition it deserves and students throughout the country will have access to the very best materials available, so driving up standards. The teacher cooperative definitely gets the thumbs up from me!”

Opportunities are available for teachers to generate extra income by providing answers to questions posed by students who are stuck on their homework tasks, or by creating resources which can be used by parents to help assist their child at home. In the near future, the cooperative will also open up an enhanced Question and Answer platform, which is designed to give wider advice for

parents who are concerned, in general terms, about their child’s welfare and education and who may not feel that they are getting the support and guidance they need from their local school. Non curriculum matters are of great importance to young people and their parents in order to assist the learning process for the student.

Creator and Co-Founder, Sean Gardner, said, “Whilst schools are the bedrock of education, the teachers within them make or break results. Great teachers are very much Britain’s unsung heroes and I’m keen to see Britain’s teaching talent get the recognition it deserves.” u0844 870 7651 uhelp@tute.com uwww.tute.com
