Miscellaneous and Small Bulbs

AMETHYSTINUS Top Size “Alpine Hyacinth” #HY01 Don’t confuse this bulb with hybrid hyacinths because the “Alpine Hyacinth” is a wild form found in Northern Spain. Our commercially harvested bulbs bloom late in the season with 12 to 20 nodding, pale china-blue florets on a slender, arched stem. Left undisturbed, they will multiply and natural- ize as freely for you as they do in the Spanish Pyrenees. Use: border, natural, rckgdn. [Ht: 8"-12", Bl: L, Zones: 4 to 8, S/SSH, 144/sq.yd.]

H. orientalis var. Festival Multiflowering Size: 18cm/up

These hyacinths have the graceful, delicate form and incredible scent of the species Roman hyacinths (which are no longer produced), but with sturdier stems. The Festivals produce several flower stalks from each bulb. Each stem dis- plays loose, graceful clusters of flowers for a dainty, yet generous blend of flowers and foliage. These bulbs are not artificially treated to produce multiple stems as in the past, but are a breeding breakthrough producing numerous stems from a single bulb. Ideal for forcing or garden display.
