Welcome to Our Flowerbulb Catalog
Dear Bulb Enthusiast,
Another year has rolled by and we find our- selves once again looking forward to a Presidential election. Come autumn, just when the blooms of our colchicums begin to fade, we’ll have cast our votes for the future. It’s a critical time for our coun- try, so be sure to let your voice be heard.
Cast Your Vote for Bulbs
Bulbs are nature’s own ready-to-bloom packages, waiting to burst into leaf and flower when the time is right. Inside layers of scales or under nondescript brown skin lies one of Mother Nature’s most inventive creations. A bulb is a self-contained unit of roots, stems and flowers with its own food storage system, triggered into motion by time and temperature. Almost without fail, bulbs can be planted with the knowledge that they will herald the coming season with a brilliant display of color, sweeping away the last traces of winter’s gloom and bridging the gap until summer annuals, perennials and, yes, summer bulbs take over. The universal appeal of bulbs is evident in gardens of all sizes. They provide an inexpensive and long-term investment for the penny-wise gardener, of- fer a source of creativity for the artistic gardener and are focal points in public botanical gardens.
Order Early and Save We’ve made every effort to maintain current prices, and in some cases, we’ve even
lowered prices, a rather contrary idea in these inflationary times. However, like bulbs, we’re eternal optimists, and it’s our goal to encourage everyone to plant more bulbs. With this in mind, we once again offer to discount your order 10% if you purchase before June 30, 2012.

Amy Epton, Our Artist
The majority of our botanical artwork is produced by Amy Elizabeth Paluch Epton. We are proud of the fact that two of Amy’s drawings commissioned by McClure & Zimmerman have been displayed in the 11th International Exhibition of Botanical Art & Illustration at the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation. Amy is one of only sixty-two art- ists, representing twelve countries, whose artworks were represented in this prestigious exhibition. Drawings selected for the exhibit were “Wild Daffo- dil Bouquet” (page 18) and “Wild Tulip Bouquet” (page 12).
