New Senco Fusion Nailer At a recent Tool Fair exhibition in Harrogate the Poppers Senco stand was awash with visitors who wanted to see and try out the new Senco F-16 nailer with Fusion technology. The reason for this

rush was twofold. On the one hand users wanted to see exactly how Fusion – The World’s First Cordless Pneumatics – worked; and secondly they all wanted to try out the newly launched Senco Fusion F-16, sixteen gauge finish nailer. Almost without exception they were all blown away by the simplicity and

power of the innovative Fusion technology, which uses a permanently sealed in supply of compressed air to drive the nails and doesn’t require users to buy expensive gas cells. They were also more than impressed with the new F-16, which drives the trade’s favourite finish pins.

New 18 Volt class from Panasonic Panasonic expands its range of particularly powerful cordless tools with five new machines. The novelties include Combi Drilldriver, Drilldriver, Impact Driver, Impact Wrench and Jigsaw. The cordless Combi Drilldriver EY 7950 has excellent percussion drilling and screwing qualities. Up to 29,700 blows per minute drive the drillbit fast into walls. The maximum torque of 40Nm in soft joint delivers an enormous power up to 36mm drill diameter in wood and for screws up to 8mm diameter. This impressive performance is due to a novel motor with 4 carbon brushes. It also leads in a very stable speed and is protected against overheating. The new cordless Drilldriver EY

7450 features identical performance parameters except for the hammer drilling function. With only 218mm in length it is extremely compact in its performance class and light with its 2.15kg. Panasonic now offers the new

cordless Impact Driver EY 7550 (with 1.4” hex drive) and Impact Wrench EY 7551 (with 1/2” square drive). The tool (EY 7550) is only 143mm long due to the new, extremely short motor. Add to this the newly developed impact mechanism, the impact drivers/wrenches function more powerfully, more efficiently and faster. Having a torque up to 205Nm (EY 7551) the tools boast enough power for fastenings up to M16. A novel hybrid switch combines the advantages of a mechanical and electronic switch and so increase its durability and protection against water and dust. Both cordless impact drivers have three performance settings to choose from and so can be best adapted to the respective job at hand. The new cordless jigsaw EY 4550 is designed with four stage pendulum for

making straight and curved cuts in different materials quickly and precisely. A tool- free jigsaw blade holder ensures fast and easy exchange of the jigsaw blade. The blower that can be switched on selectively keeps the marking free from saw dust; the parallel fence that comes as standard enables more precise straight cuts. 26mm stroke length and 2500 strokes per minute when idle guarantee fast sawing action. Some of Panasonic’s novelties are available in advantageously priced Combo

packs: EYC 157 combines the cordless Drilldriver with the 1/4” impact driver in a case; EYC 158 combines the Drilldriver with the 1/2” Impact Wrench. All novel 18 volt toolkits are equipped with two Li-ion batteries having 3.3Ah capacity. This gives them one of the highest battery capacity in their class for long work without interruptions for charging. All machines feature a control display for information on the battery state and when shutting off at excessive temperatures. A selectable LED throws light on the workpiece when it is dark.
