OFF THE RECORD

This week, video games characters run the London 10k for charity, two people spend far too much time playing Solitaire and The Beatles’ Paul McCartney works on a new video game. Plus, check out the prizes you could win in our Hitman Sniper Challenge

THE RUNNING GAME The UK games industry raised just shy of £17,000 last weekend for SpecialEffect, the Oxfordshire- based charity that helps disabled children play video games. Members of Namco Bandai, Mastertronic, Future Publishing, PopCap, Lunch PR and more ran the London 10k – and some were dressed as games characters. Future’s Alistair Williams and

Namco’s Lee Kirton teamed up as Pac-Man and a ghost. Meanwhile, Andy and Kirsty Payne became Angry Birds for the day. There was even a Minecraftman and a zombie from Plants Vs Zombies, as well as a Sonic, Nathan Drake and Street Fighter’s Blanka. The charity is already recruiting for next year’s race.
