New Art Academy gets three-week TV campaign DS original sells half a million in the UK, says Nintendo Sequel arrives with 3DS XL, targets housewives and children

NINTENDO will run a three- week TV campaign for the launch of its educational painting software, New Art Academyfor 3DS.
The game is the sequel to the smash hit DS original, which has sold over half a million copies in the UK. The TV push is aimed at housewives and children, while an online campaign is targeting mothers. Nintendo is also
partnering with high profile artists to create additional content for the game’s new SpotPass feature. Users will
be able to download new lessons, tricks and tips locally or wirelessly via SpotPass. Budding artists will also be able to create their own lessons and share them via the same method.
New Art Academy will undoubtedly benefit from the buzz surrounding 3DS XL.

intention of selling games to Playfire’s 1.25m users. Green Man Gaming merged with video game community platform Playfire last week, and boss Paul Sulyok told MCVthat he will keep the two businesses separate. “It’s a great merger,” he said. “They have 1.25m users
