Another way to make a structure appear larger (above) is by adding several doors and windows along the walls. The repeti- tive nature of these parts works to suggest distance and size even when it is not there. Line them up in a logical and orderly fash- ion. Except for rest rooms, windows tend to be even along their tops. Vinyl letters were painted to look like a metal sign.

roof. Using .060″ styrene sheet cut to the interior width of the structure add a brace extending between the long


walls every 5½″ making sure each one is placed evenly from side to side. The second set of braces will support the roof. Place the roof onto the struc- ture, tape it in place using blue painters tape, then turn the structure upside down on a flat surface. Rectan- gles of .060" styrene extending from the underside of the roof to each of the interior wall braces can now be ce- mented in place. Tack them to the braces extending across the interior of the structure but leave the roof remov- able for painting. This will prevent the roof from dipping downward under its own weight or the additional weight of any detail that may be added.
