The key to romance

Saying “I do” in the Florida sunshine adds an extra dimension to the big day and wherever the nuptials, a Florida honeymoon is the icing on the cake

Love is in the air in Florida, making it the perfect destination for a wedding or honeymoon, or indeed both. Around 20,000 couples a year come

here to get married because of the superb climate, beautiful beaches and lush landscape. And it is probably easier than you think. There

are lots of wedding planners and companies who will take care of your every need from the minister or notary through to the flowers and photographer. You’ll need a marriage

Every bride can feel just like a princess if

she marries at Walt Disney World with Cinderella Castle as a backdrop. Newlyweds get a ride in Cinderella’s coach

and Minnie and Mickey are guests. Orlando has a number of other venues including Winter Park and Leu Gardens and, of course, hotels are also happy to arrange your big day. If looking for something a

licence from the local courthouse, costing $93.50 and valid for 60 days. Passports and birth certificates are needed and if you’ve been married before take along your decree absolute. A lot of the detail can be sorted before you leave home. You can have exactly the wedding you have

dreamed of whether you are looking to say “I do” on a white sandy beach, under a flower- strewn gazebo, in a quaint chapel, with Mickey Mouse or even under the sea!

“Around 20,000 couples a year come here to get married”

bit more unusual, how about becoming man and wife in a hot-air balloon or helicopter. Couples also love Orlando because there is so much to do.

Entertainment complexes such as

Downtown Disney and Universal CityWalk offer restaurants, bars, concerts and shopping. All great fun but it is still Florida’s stunning

sugar-white beaches that are so appealing and the Florida Keys holds the key to romance. If you want to step off the beach and start

married life at sea, hold the ceremony aboard a tall ship, glass-bottom boat or luxury boat.
