theme parks

Fun in the sun is the Florida theme

It’s Florida’s unsurpassed theme parks for which the state is best known and with constant renewal they’re good for first-time and repeat visitors

Thrills, spills, excitement, laughter, fun and fantasy all await you at Florida’s wonderful theme parks and amazing attractions. Orlando richly deserves the title of ‘theme

park capital of the world’ but you can enjoy a superb range of entertainment for all the family right across the state. Besides the extraordinary large attractions,

there are hundreds and hundreds of parks, shows and experiences to ensure everyone has a holiday of a lifetime. However, the latest major park to open

is actually not in Orlando. LEGOLAND Florida is on a vast 150-acre site in

Winter Haven, a 45-minute drive southeast from Orlando and a similar distance northeast of Tampa. Dedicated for families with children aged two

to 12, it has more than 50 rides including a 150ft-rotating platform – Island in the Sky – towering over the whole park. Mickey Mouse played a huge part in Florida

becoming such a popular tourist destination so heading back to Orlando, let’s start with his very own Magic Kingdom.

The minute you walk onto Main Street USA

stretching towards the famous landmark Cinderella Castle, the magic, fantasy and fun begins. But the park which is home to adrenalin-

rush rides such as Space Mountain, loveable characters, shows and firework displays, is just one of Disney’s ‘fab four’. Animal Kingdom is a more relaxing,

environmental park, Epcot is geared to new technology and the future, and Hollywood Studios is a film and TV buff’s paradise. Don’t worry, you can see them all. Multi-park

tickets and a free shuttle service allow you to come and go as you please. All the parks are super family-friendly with

pushchairs, lockers, restrooms with baby-changing facilities and food and drink outlets galore. In the height of summer, it’s great to cool

down in one of Disney’s waterparks, Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. Wet ‘n Wild boasts more multi-person splash rides than any other. The newest waterpark is SeaWorld’s Aquatica, where you can plunge through a dolphin lagoon.
