stablished in 2002, NeoEnBiz (Korea) has deve- loped the well-known ultra-dispersed nano-dia-

mond “Neomond” (Nano diamond Ultra Dispersed Liquid) for application in a wide range of industries like electroplating, lubrication additives, paint addi- tives, drug delivery, wafer polishing, industrial pro- ducts for the radiation heat industry, polymer and resin composite. The Nanodiamond dispersion parti- cle size is between 4 to 30nm, the dispersion stability time is 0.5 to 1 year.

ew Energy Technologies, Inc. (OTCQB: NENE), a developer of innovative technologies for

generating sustainable electricity, announced the appointments of Dr. Scott R. Hammond as Princi- pal Scientist, and Dr. Christopher M. Harris to the Company’s Board of Advisors. The company is de- veloping a novel MotionPower™ technology which generates electricity from the motion of vehicles, and the first-of-its-kind SolarWindow™ technology capable of generating electricity on see-through glass windows.

erlikon Solar (SIX: OERL) presented its 2nd generation ThinFab™ at the World Future Ener-

gy Summit 2012 (WFES) in Abu Dhabi. This end-to- end production line resets the standard for manufac- turing sustainable solar modules at low cost and high quality. The new design reduces capital expenditure (Capex) by 23% to just $ 1/Wp including engineering support and performance guarantees. The produc- tion line enables customers to produce high-quality thin film silicon modules for costs of around $ 0.5/ Wp (EUR0.35/Wp), a record in the solar industry.

Oerlikon Solar also announced a new record thin film silicon cell. At 12.5%, the efficiency of this lab cell is 1.7% points higher than the large scale production modules of the 2nd generation ThinFab™ (an increase of 16%) and clearly demonstrates the potential of Oerlikon Solar‘s thin film silicon techno- logy.

esearchers at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors have succeeded in manufacturing high-performance

prototypes of blue and white LEDs, in which the light-emitting gallium-nitride layers are grown on silicon wafers with a diameter of 150mm. Already in the pilot stage, the new LED chips are to be tested under practical conditions. The first LEDs on silicon from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors could hit the market in just two years.

Quality and performance data on the fabricated LED silicon chips match those of sapphire-based chips: the blue UX:3 chips in the standard Golden Dragon Plus package achieve a record brightness of 634 mW
