Sivida Corp. (NASDAQ: PSDV, ASX: PVA) an- nounced financial results for its second quarter
ended December 31, 2011. At December 31, 2011, cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities totaled $18.7 million compared to $21.3 million at September 30, 2011. Revenues for the second quar- ter were $630,000 compared to $414,000 a year earlier, primarily reflecting recognition of deferred collaborative research and development revenues from the June 2011 amended and restated Pfizer agreement and increased Retisert®
royalty income.
As a result of the November 2011 complete response letter issued by the FDA in response to Alimera’s resubmitted new drug application for ILUVIEN for DME and the significant decrease of the Company’s share price at December 31, 2011, the Company re- corded a charge of $14.8 million for the impairment of its finite-lived intangible assets in the quarter. The Company reported a net loss of $17.5m, or $0.84 per share, for the second quarter ended December 31, 2011 compared to a net loss of $2.7m, or $0.15 per share, for the second quarter of the prior year.
Revenues for the six months ended December 31, 2011 totaled $2.3m compared to $890,000 for the prior year period, primarily reflecting recognition of deferred collaborative research and development revenues.

D Vision, Inc. developer of nanotechnology- based optical products for displays and solid
state lighting, has received the 2011 SEMI Award for North America for its pioneering work to commer- cialize quantum dot (QD) technology. The recipients of the award are Seth Coe-Sullivan, Chief Techno- logy Officer; Jonny Steckel, Director of Chemistry; John Ritter, Executive VP of Product Development and Operations; and Vladimir Bulovic and Moungi Bawendi, Science Advisory Board members. All five of the recipients have been with the company for at least 5 years, and as a group have invested more than 60 years into quantum dot technology.

olith, Inc. is developing advanced nanostructured products for solar energy, green building and
displays products using a proprietary nanolithogra- phy technology. Its “Rolling Mask” lithography system (RML) has the potential to surpass current competitors in throughput, cost and quality. A pro- totype has been built last year in partnership with SUSS Microtec AG. It allows patterning a 300mm x 300mm plates or 12” wafers using rotatable cylindri- cal photomask. The system employs near-field phase mask technology to print sub-wavelength structures on large areas of substrate materials (glass, Si, etc.). Technology roadmap promises scaling up this me- thod to 1m substrates later this year and up to 3m plates in conveyor mode the next 2 years.
