3M New Ventures, the corporate venture orga- nization of 3M, also announced an investment in HydroNovation Inc. of California, U.S., a developer of next- generation water conditioning systems for re- sidential and food service industry applications. The Series B round financing included a second invest- ment by Clean Pacific Ventures. Terms of the trans- action were not disclosed.
3M reported also record fourth-quarter sales of $7.1 billion, up 5.7% year-on-year. Earnings were $1.35 per share, an increase of 5.5% versus the fourth quarter of 2010. The company generated $1.2 billion in free cash flow during the quarter, equal to 128 percent of net income.
