Dear Sheetz, I felt compelled to write and tell you why I like your convenience stores. I am from Emporium and was in Clearfield to refill the Sheetz coffee mug I’d had for about four years and loved. I had gotten the refill along with some other
things. I was on my way to Patton. By the time I got to Curwensville, I went to drink that coffee and I didn’t have it. No coffee, no mug! I had either set it on my car or left it in the store. The next day I started back home and
stopped in Clearfield to ask if anyone had turned in a blue coffee mug. They showed me the mugs they had for sale and asked what mine looked like. I showed them and they told me to take it, no charge. I just wanted to say thanks. They didn’t have to do that. That’s why I love Sheetz! I for one will continue to tell this story and drink Sheetz coffee! Sally Johnson Emporium, PA
Dear Sheetz, My nephew from Philadelphia participated in the PA Special Olympics in State College. I can’t begin to thank you enough for being such a huge supporter for this yearly event! He has been trying to make it to the Olympics for the past three years, especially since he is a die-hard Penn State fan. I had the privilege of watching him compete in his event (which, by the way, he received a gold medal in) and as soon as he saw me he excitedly told me all about the things he saw and did while at Penn State. At the top of the list was eating Sheetz food and spinning the wheel for prizes. He was thrilled that he now has a Sheetz backpack and told me about all the things he is going to use it for. I think he may
even love it as much as his gold medal, espe- cially since he was not willing to give it to his favorite aunt! Thank you for all that you do for the community. Not only does your company provide great jobs for so many, but also great food. All of my visiting relatives inevitably answer Sheetz when I ask what they would like to eat while here. Thank you for helping to make my nephew’s dream come true and for all of your community support. I personally visit my local Sheetz store daily and happily do so to help support a great local business. Janet Klingbeil Hollidaysburg, PA
Dear Sheetz, The employees at Sheetz Store #206, Weston, WV, are kind and sweet. They make all people feel they are home with all the kindness they show. They always go out of their way to help people
in any way they can. If Sheetz sold hunting and fishing things, I
would never go in any other stores. I just want you all to know that when you go
home after your day of work is done, you have made a lot of people happy, so keep up the good work. It’s a treat to stop at Sheetz. When I go to other stores, it’s a job. When I go to Sheetz it’s like going to visit family. To all Sheetz Weston, WV, workers, you’re the
best! I love you all! Gary
Dear Sheetz, I am writing to inform you of one of the kindest acts I have ever received from an establish- ment. On our trip home from Florida with the marching band and the high school show choir who had performed at Disney World, we were looking for a place to stop and let our students get something to eat. You can imagine how wonderful it was after
a long trip home to finally see a familiar big red Sheetz sign. We pulled into the parking lot with 129 people only to find out that this particular Sheetz was not open for business quite yet. While some of the students went across the
street to another establishment, 29 of us went inside to ask if we could use the facilities and were told that while they were not open yet, they would accommodate us. Mr. Jeff Martz quickly stepped into action and in a matter of a few minutes, had served all 29 of us breakfast fit to our specifications. When we went to pay, he said that he had the
tab. Mr. Martz will never know the amount of gratitude I and the students of Smethport Area High School, who were served that day, have for him. Barbara Transue Smethport, PA

Can static electricity really start a fire at the pumps? Some Sheetz customers refuse to believe that’s true. What can we tell them?
Yes, static electricity can really start a fire at the pumps. In the mid 1990s, the Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) began investigating mysterious refueling fires that were happening at the time. They learned that static electricity—the same thing that shocks you when you drag your feet on the carpet—can ignite gasoline vapors at the pump. Almost 200 incidents have been reported to PEI that appear to be related to static electrical discharge.
To keep safe while refueling, gas customers should:
1. Turn off their engines. 2. Don’t smoke. 3. Never re-enter their vehicles while refueling 4. Always put portable containers on the ground while filling. Filling these containers in the back of trucks or trunks of cars is extremely dangerous.
